Image galleries
A Gallery is an App resource used inside templates. It is not a component that you drag into a Layout container.
Create a preset
Section titled “Create a preset”- Open the App tree’s Components → Gallery folder.
- Click its plus action to create a gallery preset.
- Give it an English title, such as Office photos.
- Choose the gallery type and configure the available lightbox/button settings.
- Use Styles for thumbnail size, gap, background, and other supported appearance options.
The preset controls presentation. The images come from a record field in the template context.
Copy the template tag
Section titled “Copy the template tag”Use Copy template tag in the Gallery toolbar. Select an offered image field from the Page’s Objects/Regions data, or enter a supported custom field path.
Paste the copied tag into the Popover template for your example. A tag has this general form:
{{mapsvg_gallery "APP_ID.GALLERY_ID" photos}}Keep the quoted ID exactly as copied. Replace the example identifiers with the actual copied value. Do not invent an ID from the preset’s display title.
The tag does not automatically insert itself into the editor. The photos argument must refer to the field available at that point in the template. A nested linked-Object path differs from a direct Object image field.
Test images and lifecycle
Section titled “Test images and lifecycle”Choose a record with several accessible images. Open its popover, navigate the gallery, close it, and open another record. Check mobile sizing and fullscreen/lightbox behavior where enabled.
Deleting a gallery preset removes the presentation resource after confirmation. It does not delete the image files or the database records. Templates referencing a removed preset need to be updated.
Gallery configuration follows App drafts/publications. Changes to the record’s image field are shared data and are not rolled back by App History.
The current Details action limitation also applies to any guide that would otherwise open a gallery through Details; use Popover for now.
