MapSVG Database
The built-in MapSVG Database holds user-defined DB Objects — your locations, sales representatives, events, and anything else you want on the map.
You define fields under Database › Edit fields, then add objects under Database › List. Objects with a Location field appear on the map as Markers. The same objects can power the Directory, Details view, Popover, Tooltips, filters, and search.
Typical workflow
- Open your map in the map editor
- Go to Database › Edit fields — add fields (text, select, location, images, etc.)
- Go to Database › List — add objects manually or import from CSV / Google Sheets
- Set Directory › Source to Database if you want a list next to the map
- Click Save
Pagination
DB Objects are loaded with pagination.
The default is 30 items per page. That means you'll see only 30 Markers on the map and 30 rows in the Directory. You can change this number (or turn off pagination entirely): Menu › Settings › Pagination. Pagination buttons < Prev. and Next > can be added to the map container and/or to the Directory container: Menu › Settings › Pagination › Location.
Markers
DB Objects with a Location field are shown on the map as Markers.
Adding markers by address or lat/lng coordinates requires 2 Google API keys: How to get Google API keys.
Directory
DB Objects can be shown as a list in the Directory: Menu › Directory › Source: Database. See Directory.
Filters & search
DB Objects can be filtered and searched: Menu › Filters. See Filters.
Connection to Regions
A DB Object can be connected to one or multiple Regions. This lets you filter objects by Region or show all DB Objects in a pop-up when a Region is clicked.
Custom fields
DB Objects can have the following custom fields:
- Text: short text, 255 characters max.
- Textarea: long text, with optional HTML support
- Select / Multiselect: drop-down list of values
- Checkbox: any value that can be on/off
- Radio: list of values
- WP Post: WordPress post
- Images: set of images. Each image comes in 3 different sizes: thumbnail, medium, full
- Date: datepicker field; supports many international formats
- Location: lat/lng coordinates and address parts (city, country, zip, state, etc.). When a DB Object has a Location field, the object is shown on the map as a clickable Marker.
- Regions: attach a DB Object to one or many Regions.
